Originating from a family with a fascination for antiques, Raphael and Joshua Sinai specialise in European, Asian and American 19th and 20th Century Decorative Art and Design.
Having moved back from New York in 2005, Raphael and Joshua have opened a new gallery in central London located on South Audley Street, opposite Harry’s Bar and a few minutes away from the Dorchester and Grovenor House hotels.
Both passionate in their respective fields, the twins experience in New York was invaluable. Raphael was a specialist for seven years in the 20th Century Decorative Arts department at Christie’s auctioneers. While Joshua worked with a private dealer and collector specialising in European and Asian 19th Century Decorative Arts including silver.
The gallery features an eclectic mix of decorative arts with an emphasis on the unusual. The twins continuously travel and search for new treasures, acquiring original, authentic and documented works. Noteworthy objects have been selected for various museum exhibitions around the world such as, ‘Gallé: A Centenary’, at The Broadfield House Glass Museum, United Kingdom; ‘Sarah Bernhardt: The Art of High Drama’, at the Jewish Museum, New York; ‘Louis Comfort Tiffany: Artist for the Ages’, at the Seattle Art Museum, The Toledo Museum of Art, The Dallas Museum of Art and The Carnegie Museum of Art.
