Pilar Corrias

Championing Artistic Innovation and Diversity

Description

Pilar Corrias Gallery, founded by its namesake Pilar Corrias, is a contemporary art gallery that has become a pivotal space in the art world. The gallery’s core mission is to support both emerging and established artists, fostering the growth and development of their work through the creation of new projects and exhibitions. With a roster of thirty-five international artists, of which two-thirds are female, Pilar Corrias Gallery is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the art community. This commitment extends to representing artists from varied backgrounds, ensuring a rich and diverse array of perspectives and styles within its walls.

Expanding Horizons Beyond the Gallery

Pilar Corrias Gallery is not confined to its physical space; it actively seeks opportunities to showcase its artists on larger stages. The gallery played a significant role in supporting major projects like Philippe Parreno’s Tate Modern Turbine Hall Commission in October 2016 and Ian Cheng’s participation in the 2019 Venice Biennale curated by Ralph Rugoff. Located at 2 Savile Row, the gallery is housed in a historic townhouse dating back to the 1730s. This street-level space blends the charm of a former townhouse with the dynamic energy of contemporary art, creating an environment where innovation and history intersect. Pilar Corrias Gallery stands as a testament to the power of art to transcend boundaries and inspire change.
